Centennial, Colorado (KDVR) — Convicted school shooter Devon Ericsson was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole, killing one student and injuring eight others when firing in a classroom in Colorado in 2019. Become.
Ericsson faced the highest sentence in the counts associated with everyone and brought 1282.5 years in addition to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole, said Chief Prosecutor George Browler.
Ericsson was convicted earlier this year on 46 crimes, including one murder.
Prosecutors said Ericsson and fellow student Alec McKinney targeted a group of students watching a movie in the STEM School Highlands Ranch classroom south of Denver on May 7, 2019.
When several boys, including Kendrick Castillo, were indicted in Ericsson, their attempt to kill a large number of students was unsuccessful. Castillo was shot dead during the incident.
School guards arrested McKinney.
Life imprisonment without parole is a Colorado coercion against an adult convicted of a single murder. Many of the other charges have statements that need to be executed consecutively.
At the hearing of the decision on Friday, several survivors of the shooting and Castillo’s parents spoke. Ericsson’s parents also spoke.
The statement about the effects of the victims lasted for hours. Ericsson chose not to speak later.
McKinney was also one of the witnesses to the trial. He was sentenced to life imprisonment and 38 years in prison.
