New York (AP) Minnesota Twins pitcher John Gant continued only 12 pitches against the New York Yankees on Monday, leaving behind what looked like an injury.

The 29-year-old right-handed Gantt retired DJ LeMahieu and Brett Gardner from the bottom of the walk on the ground out and walked Aaron Judge with four walks.

Rocco Baldelli and athletic trainer Michael Salazar went to the mound, briefly talked to the pitcher, and Gantt was fired.

Former Boston Red Sox manager John Farrell’s son Luke Farrell was relieved and led Giancarlo Stanton to force out.

Gantt is 1-3, recording 3.76 ERA with 5 starts and 7 reliefs.

In Minnesota, Jorge Polanco and Miguel SanĂ³ faced rookie Luis Gil, leading 4-0 with a two-run home run.
