Columbus, OhioWCMH) — Keith Dalton and his football referee crew say they had recently played a high school match. Later, they realized they were trapped in a locker room.

Dalton, a high school referee at the Central Ohio Football Association, believes they were trapped in a controversial phone call during the September 10 match between Globe City High School and Central Crossing High School. After the call, Globe City’s assistant coach came to the field and was flagged for acts against sportsmanship, he said.

After the game was over, Dalton said he and his crew were in a locker room where their performance was being evaluated when the door was barricaded from the outside at the vending machine.

“And at least three people had to push the door to get it out with a wedge,” Dalton said. “As a group, we have prosecuted Globe City.”

In response to the allegations, the southwestern city school district to which Grove City belongs sent a statement to WCMH, stating: I was responsible for this behavior. This kind of behavior is not in our school community. ”

Dalton said both the principal and head coach of Globe City High School had apologized. He also said the assistant coach who beat them was stopped for the match.

But he wants more to be done, especially when it comes to crew safety.

“That’s all they can do. All we do is protect officials and say it’s just crossing boundaries,” Dalton said.
