A California woman attacked the CTA platform over the Chicago Marathon weekend and got off to a good start. 1 person is in custody

Chicago (WLS)-A Californian woman who was in Chicago with her daughter for the Chicago Marathon was punched on the CTA platform and then fell on the track.

“By the time I turned around, she was flying,” said the victim’s daughter, Jessica Pegan.

The heathen and her mother left the McCormick Place Marathon Expo around 6 pm on Friday. When they encountered a man who seemed to be in trouble, they were at a station on the Selmac Green Line.

“When he talked to himself, he seemed angry and suffering,” said the pagan.

Chicago Police confirmed that 32-year-old Gary Coleman had been arrested after saying he had repeatedly beaten a 66-year-old woman on the CTA platform. In that case, he is currently charged with four felony charges. According to court records, he was charged with another attack a few days ago.

Police did not reveal who was the victim of the CTA platform attack, but pagans said it was her mother Dennis.

“She wasn’t moving,” she recalled. “I thought it was the worst”

The pagan said she called 911 and three men jumped on a truck to lift her mom.

“I knew she was alive because she was moaning with a kind of pain,” said the pagan.

Pagans said their mother suffered from orbital fractures, wrist dislocations, and concussion.

“It breaks my heart, and I’m just grateful that it didn’t get worse,” she said.

With the support of marathon officials, police and hospital teams, Jessica Pagan was able to race on Sunday.

“I couldn’t even win the race, but I overcame so much that I felt like I won,” she said.

The pagan father surprised her at the finish line and concluded what she said was her favorite marathon in the ten she ran.

“That’s true Chicago. The people we met, the very kind and caring people,” said the heathen.

The pagans said they didn’t know who were the three good Samaritans who helped her, but she called them guardian angels.
