The detective has notified Marcano’s family, Mina said, but authorities are still waiting for the coroner to make an official ID. He said there was a wallet with Marcano’s ID near his body.
“Everyone wanted this result to be different,” Mina said.
According to the sheriff’s office, Marcano has been missing since September 24, when she was last seen at Arden Villas Luxury Apartments in Orlando, where she lived and worked.
According to Mina, investigators found the body on Saturday while exploring the area near Timberscan in Orange County’s Lake Apartment. According to sheriffs, mobile phone records indicate that Armand Manuel Caballero, the person involved in the case, was “in or near” the apartment for about 20 minutes the night Marcano was reported missing.
Authorities believed that Caballero, who was apparently committed suicide on September 27, had accessed Marcano’s apartment without her permission, Mina said earlier. An arrest warrant was issued to Caballero for the robbery.
