Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen have been named to the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team

New York – Twenty-five years ago, both players were named to the league’s 50th anniversary team because they were in the midst of the Bulls dynasty.

So when the NBA decides to make a list of the best 75 players in history to celebrate their wedding anniversary, it’s not surprising that Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen will be on that list again.

On Wednesday, both Chicago Bulls Hall of Fame players were nominated for the League’s 75th Anniversary Team, on the second day of the announcement. The first 25 players were announced on Tuesday, another 25 on Wednesday and the last 25 on Thursday.

Jordan and Pippen were named to the NBA’s 50th Anniversary Team at the 1997 All-Star Weekend. Shortly before that, the team won the fifth of six championships.

Arguably the greatest player in the history of professional basketball, Jordan continued the Bulls until 1998 and returned to the NBA with the Wizards for two seasons from 2001 to 2003. After winning six championships, five regular season best player awards, and six final MVPs, he was nominated for 14 All-Star games and retired.

Jordan was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009.

Pippen left the Bulls with Jordan in 1998, played for the Rocket and Trail Blazers, and then returned to Chicago for the final season of 2003-2004. The seven All-Stars and six NBA Champions were inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010.
