People in Wisconsin can now call the same area code without having to dial the area code. This change affects both landlines and mobiles, all six Wisconsin area codes, and more than 20 other states that haven’t yet switched to 10-digit dials.
The change is due to the Federal Communications Commission’s establishment 988 as a new national phone number for suicide prevention and mental health support..
