Athens, Georgia (AP) — Zamir White rushed two touchdowns to regain a blocked punt and score another.

Georgia (5-0, 3-0 Southeastern Conference) took a 21-0 lead in the first quarter despite playing without quarterback JT Daniels.

Stetson Bennett passed only 72 yards on behalf of Daniels as the Bulldogs relied on their running games and top-notch defenses to defeat Arkansas (4-1, 1-1).

Following a 62-0 victory at Vanderbild last week, Georgia, a nation leader in all-defense and scoring defense, held Arkansas down to the first 10 downs and 156 yards.

The bulldog rushed back 273 yards, continuing the Commission’s approach. James Cook had 87 yards with 12 carries. Kenny Macintosh had 57 yards. Kendall Milton ran 48 yards, including a 1-yard touchdown.

White scored 3 and 15 yards. He finished 68 yards with 16 carries.

Georgia extended the lead to 21-0 when Dan Jackson blocked Reedbauer’s punt and White fell to the ball in the end zone.

Daniels wore a uniform but missed the second match of the season after testing his injury during a pre-match warm-up. A diagonal injury kept Daniels away from the Bulldog’s 56-7 victory over UAB on September 11.

Arkansas also asked a quarterback question after KJ Jefferson missed most of the second half of last week’s Texas A & M victory with a bruise on his left knee. Jefferson returned to his final drive and wrapped his knees as he began his match against Georgia.

Jefferson completed 8 out of 13 passes at 65 yards. Malik Hornsby took over in the final quarterback.

Jack Podolsney kicked a field goal of 46, 30, and 37 yards. Come Little was wide to the right from 37 yards in the second quarter of Razorbucks.

Take away

Arkansas: Razorbucks did not meet the top 10 criteria set by Georgia. They hurt themselves with 13 penalties at 100 yards, including two false start flags before performing play. The pressure caused by Georgia’s defenses and crowd noise was overwhelming, especially at the start of the game.

Georgia: The bulldog showed impressive depth when forced to play without starting a quarterback. Bennett managed the game, completed some initial passes, and then relied heavily on a long list of bulldog running backs. Meanwhile, the defense frustrated Jefferson and thrived, choking the Razorbucks ground game. Defense showed that it deserved its top ranking and made the team look like a serious candidate for the same honor.

Impact on polls

Arkansas: Razorbucks’ defense recovered after Georgia’s 21-0 first quarter lead, allowing only two field goals in the next two quarters. It was too late to save Arkansas from the top 25 depression. Despite its decline in the final quarter, Arkansas may not fall that much in the vote, thanks to winning the top 25 teams in Texas and Texas A & M.

Georgia: Bulldog has solidified in second place. Another dominant defensive show against the Arkansas team, which averaged 35.8 points, could win more 1st place votes in Georgia.

next

Arkansas will visit the 12th Mississippi on Saturday.

Georgia will visit 22nd Auburn on Saturday. Georgia has won four consecutive games in the series, including a 27-6 victory in Athens last season.
