Washington (AP) — Jill Biden kicked off the holiday season at the White House on Monday. A small branch was cut from the official Blue Room Tree and passed to the grandchildren of the infant with a large smooth.
“See how beautiful this is,” said First Lady, 18 1/2 feet (5.6 meters) delivered to the front door of Pennsylvania Avenue by Ben and a Clydesdale horse named Winston who pulled a tree-carrying wagon. I said about Fraser Fir.
“It’s beautiful. It’s really amazing,” she said.
Son Hunter Biden, his wife Melissa, and their toddler Bo bravely in a refreshing breeze to see a short ceremony commemorating the beginning of President Joe Biden’s first Christmas at the White House. I was among the White House aides, guests, and quite a few other groups I faced. ..
This tree was presented by a team of fathers and sons of Rusty and Beauestes at Peak Farm in Jefferson, North Carolina. It has won the National Christmas Tree Association’s annual contest three times. The winner can present the official tree to the White House.
Dale Haney, the White House site manager, went to the farm in October to choose a tree. Peak Farm also supplied the official White House Tree in 2008 and 2012.
Fraser fir will be decorated during the day and will be exhibited in the Blue Room, a tradition dating back to President Dwight D. Eisenhower, after the chandelier has been removed so that the chandelier can be tied to the ceiling for safety during the season.
According to the First Lady, the White House Christmas decorations will be released on Monday after Thanksgiving.
She also joined a family of DC Army National Guard to honor the role of the National Guard in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, her office said. She is using a new role to highlight and gather support for military families across the country through an initiative named Joining Forces. Bo, the late son of Bydens, named after his toddler’s grandson, served in the Delaware Army National Guard.
Later on Monday, First Lady joined Supreme Commander President Biden on a trip to Army Fort Bragg in North Carolina to celebrate “friendship” with military personnel and military families. The term is a combination of the words “friend” and “Thanksgiving” and refers to a large meal among friends that can be eaten during the Thanksgiving season.
On Tuesday, they plan to participate in an upcoming local service project before resuming the family tradition of celebrating Thanksgiving on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts.
Biden put the tradition on hold and thanksgiving in Delaware last fall as public health officials advised people not to travel or gather in large groups before the COVID-19 vaccine became widely available. At the festival dinner, my wife, her daughter, and my son just crouched down-the law.
“For the first time, we were the only four of us for the last Thanksgiving,” Biden commented earlier this month on the country’s progress against the coronavirus. “Late later this month, vaccines will fill our table and our hearts.”
