Chicago Shooting: A child, shot in a parking lot on South Side Walgreens on 1,75th Avenue and State Street, says the Chicago Fire Department.

A one-year-old child was shot dead in a Walgreens parking lot on 75th Street and State Street on Chicago’s South Side, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

A CFD spokesman told ABC7 that the child had a scratch on his head. He is in a stable state that is not life-threatening. The fire department transferred the child to the Kammer Children’s Hospital in Hyde Park after the shooting.

Walgreens, where the shooting took place, is located in the Greater Grand Crossing area.

Authorities did not say whether anyone was detained after the shooting.
