Chicago — The Chicago Public Health Service has added two states to the weekly COVID-19 Travel Recommendations on Tuesday.
Advisories are located in 40 states and one region.
In Connecticut, the daily COVID infection rate per 100,000 inhabitants has risen to 20.7 (from 11.1) in the past week, but has been returned to advisory, similar to 15.1 in Maryland.
California and Guam each have a daily case rate of 10.8 and, like North Carolina (11.6), are eligible to be off the list next week. The state will be removed from travel recommendations if it maintains a daily COVID case rate of less than 15 per 100,000 residents for two consecutive weeks.
As of Tuesday, travel recommendations include all states or territories except Alabama, DC, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and the Virgin Islands.
CDPH reminds unvaccinated travelers that they need to be tested for COVID before and after a trip from any state on the advisory list and quarantined when they arrive in Chicago. Quarantine and testing recommendations do not apply to fully vaccinated travelers.
The average daily case rate in the United States per 100,000 residents was 27.3, up 3 points from last week. The daily case rate in Illinois is currently 31.9 (25.5 last week, 19.7 two weeks ago). The daily case rate in Chicago is 19.5 (16.1 last week).

To all neighbors, friends, colleagues and family who thanked the vaccines that made these gatherings possible again, played their part, were vaccinated and selflessly took precautions to slow the spread of COVID. appreciate. ”
