New York (AP) — There may be many adjectives for music superstar T-Pain, but not the boring ones. So when he was presented with the idea of writing a book, he knew what he didn’t write, an autobiography.
“I want to bring joy to others. I don’t want to be offended. I want people who read what I’m doing to feel good,” he said. “So why not do something that people can actually get something?”
The singer of “Buy Ua Drank” is migrating from consumer to instructor in his new book. “Can I mix the drinks?” Co-authored with professional cocktail expert and beverage executive Maxwell Britten, the book is inspired by Pain’s music and career travel, with gorgeous cocktail photos on sophisticated black pages. Packed with 50 alcoholic beverage recipes. He also provided simple and personal anecdotes before each recipe, many of which were named after some of his biggest hits.

AP: Since you are independent, were you surprised at the success of “I Like Dat”?
T-Pain: Of course. T-Pain: I see it from time to time, man. And it breaks the negative a lot … As an artist and as a public figure, we always see the negative first. That is the first thing that happens.
