The New Year’s on-demand food delivery company is reviving a program called WeDash that was suspended during the pandemic.
DoorDash launched WeDash, which went live in 2013. The founder said he wanted to get the company involved in the community and philanthropy from the beginning.
A DoorDash spokeswoman emailed CNN Business on Tuesday: “As the company grows, the founders want everyone to experience different parts of the product, get closer to all viewers, and get the product working. According to one Media reportA dissatisfied DoorDash engineer recently posted a long message on the anonymous social media platform Blind about not including monthly deliveries in his job description when he registered with DoorDash.
DoorDash’s answer: “Employee sentiment towards the visually impaired does not reflect the entire employee base. This is a valuable program we have been doing since the company was founded.”
