Lowell, Indiana — According to state police, an Indianapolis police vehicle was attacked by a disabled driver on an I-65 near a 249-mile marker on Sunday morning. At that time, the vehicle was vacant and there were no reports of injuries.
At around 6:15 am on Sunday, Indiana Transport Department soldiers and Houser helpers were helping to control the Jackknifing semi-truck traffic, which was blocking all lanes, police said.
According to police, the 2018 Jeep driver turned around an INDOT vehicle that had moved to the far right lane with the emergency light activated. The driver then turned between the left and right lanes and then collided with a trooper vehicle with an emergency light on.
Soldiers assigned to the vehicle stood outside the vehicle and witnessed irregular driving before hitting the ditch to avoid injury.
The driver, Hakeem A. Bahhur, 30, from Orange, California, was unharmed and refused to take the field drinking test. A blood sampling warrant was granted, and Barher was detained and prosecuted in advance for a class A minor offense, drunk surgery.
