Milwaukee (AP) — Janice Adetokumpo scores 30 points to rout the Golden State Warriors 118-99 on Thursday night with Bucks’ return from the NBA’s COVID-19 protocol, directed by Mike Budenholzer. We did the third triple-double of the season to help.
Antetokunpo recorded 12 rebounds and 11 assists in his 28th triple-double.
Budenholzer missed four games on the Health and Safety Protocol and was head coached by assistant Darvin Ham. Bucks was 1-3.
Khris Middleton added 23 points, Bobby Portis 20 and Grayson Allen 15.
Milwaukee didn’t follow suit to gain the 77-38 half-time advantage. In the first half, Antetokunpo scored 23 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists.
Bucks was the biggest half-time lead in franchise history, just two points below this season’s record. Milwaukee defeated Orlando 123-92 on November 22nd, leading 77-36.
The Golden State surpassed Bucks in the second half, reducing the deficit to 18 with Juan Toscano Anderson’s three pointers remaining at 9:39, which is as close as the Warriors would get.
Andrew Wiggins led the Warriors with 16 points. Jonathan Kunginga had 15 people, Stephen Curry had 12 people, and Klay Thompson had 11 people.
The Warriors didn’t have Draymond Green because of the tightness of their left calf. This prevented him from losing to Memphis on Tuesday night, winning Cleveland on Sunday and playing in less than a minute.
Milwaukee missed guard Jrue Holiday for four consecutive games. Holiday won the NBA’s Health and Safety Protocol on January 2nd in Brooklyn, and has since finished three games with left ankle pain.
The Warriors suffered a biased loss on each of their last two trips to Milwaukee.
Last season, Bucks defeated the Warriors 138-99 in a Christmas match in the absence of Fiserv Forum spectators.
