Atlanta (AP) — Emily Enstrar scored 14 points and achieved a layup with three seconds remaining, winning 12 consecutive wins over 3rd place Louisville and 12th place Georgia Institute of Technology 50-48 on Sunday.
Yellowjacket (10-3, 2-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) was trying to knock out the top three teams for the second time in the nation’s highest-scoring defense at Georgia Institute of Technology and the nation’s third-place match at Louisville in December. After defeating UConn at home on the 9th, Lotta-Maj Lahtinen’s heave from the half-court was short on the buzzer.
Louisville (12-1, 2-0) called a timeout with 14.6 seconds remaining and scored 48 to draw. Engstler gave the Cardinals a third lead in the game. Georgia Institute of Technology led 33 minutes 33 seconds.

Kiana Smith hit a straight three to open the fourth quarter, trimming the lead to 32-30, Van Lis hitting a free-throw pair to tie it, and Latinen and Stroutman three in a row. Knocked down to 38-33.
Engstler hit a straight 3 and gave Louisville the first lead at 23-20 in the third early stage, but Strautmane replied in the left corner 3 to 23-all. Ermosa’s putback pushed Georgia Institute of Technology’s lead to 26-23 before Cubaji was required to foul offensively. Cardinals coach Jeff Waltz was angry that the Cardinals weren’t asked for a flag, whistled with a technical foul and challenged a video review. The call was endorsed.
Waltz also had four turnovers in that span as his team failed to score on six consecutive possessions, the jacket rose to 27-23 and 4:49 remained third. You may be angry. Mikasa Robinson broke the spell in a layup to 27-25, but she made a turnover and Cochrane missed the jumper in her subsequent belongings.

Georgia Institute of Technology: Lahtinen had seven of the 14 turnovers of the team in the first half. She and Cubaji were forced into ball-handling missions for most of the game. Center Cubaj, who assisted the Georgia Institute of Technology this season, reduced 16 rebounds. Of the seven players available, five were regular starters.
