A 3-year-old boy was shot in a Southside residence and hospitalized in good condition

Chicago — — Police said a 3-year-old boy was shot dead in a house in the city’s Calumet Heights community area on Saturday morning and was hospitalized in good condition.

According to police, the boy was in a house at 9300 blocks on South Escanaba Avenue at around 10:45 am and had a gunshot wound on his back.

The boy was taken to Trinity Hospital and then in good condition to Kammer Children’s Hospital.

No one has been detained and the shooting situation is being investigated by a detective in Area 2.
