Springfield, Illinois (AP) — Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum digitizes nearly 8,000 rare images, including a photo album of the Lincoln family and a poster that rewarded the capture of the 16th President’s assassin. ..

The State Journal-Register reports that the “Picturing Lincoln” project will give people around the world access to museum materials in Springfield.

It is funded by a $ 100,000 grant from the Illinois State Library. The image also includes a burial schedule to bring Lincoln’s body to Springfield for burial, as well as the only surviving photo of the body open to the public.
