Miami Gardens, Florida (AP) — The Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was off the sideline due to a rib injury in the first quarter of Sunday’s match against Buffalo.
The dolphin said he was suspicious of returning.
Tagovailoa was hit by Buffalo’s AJ Epenesa in the final play of Miami’s second series. Dolphins aimed for it in 4th and 2nd place from near the middle stage. Epenesa was completely unblocked when Tagovailoa dropped back and threw a Miami quarterback on the grass.
Tagovailoa sat down for a while, crouched and grabbed his left side. Then he got up and tried to go to Miami’s side business, but then had to go back to the ground. He eventually became a bystander and was taken to the dolphin locker room.
Jacoby Brissette joined the game as a successor to Tagovailoa. Tagovailoa was fired twice in Miami’s first series and became a big hit from Epenesa in the next series.
Speculation has swirled about the dolphin’s interest in Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, who was accused of sexual assault and harassment in a lawsuit filed by 22 women since at least August.
Watson and his lawyer denied the accusation against him. There is no charge.
Dolphins coach Brian Flores has not confirmed reports that Miami was involved in trade negotiations over Watson, but said last month he wanted a high-character player.
“There are a lot of things that are important to us when making decisions: fit the team or the overall talent, the salary cap,” says Flores. “When we’re talking about one or more players, we’re always trying to do the best for the Miami Dolphins. There are lots of variables. We’re tough, smart, and competitive. Yes, I love to play and I want a team-first group. They are the type of people we are looking for. “
Tagovailoa entered the season nearly two years after a hip injury after completing his college career in Alabama. He took over the Miami starter, a rookie year at the NFL, mid-season.
