Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Gardens, Florida (AP) has a broken rib and will not play on Sunday when the Miami Dolphins visit the Las Vegas Raiders.

The dolphin announced an updated diagnosis on Wednesday, after the first test suggested that Tagovailoa was dealing with injured ribs. Further examination showed a fracture, and the dolphin had already decided that Jacoby Brissset would begin this weekend.

It is unknown how long Tagovailoa will be on the sidelines. Dolphins coach Brian Flores didn’t want to offer a potential return schedule, but Tagovailoa said he had already improved.

Tagovailoa was injured last weekend in the second series when Miami lost to Buffalo 35-0. He made a hit in a force down play from Bills’ AJ Epenesa and slowly advanced to the sideline waiting for Kurt to take him out of the field.

Tagovailoa completed 17 of the 94-yard 22 passes and touchdowns when the dolphins went to Las Vegas and defeated the Raiders 26-25 last season.

After joining the game last week on behalf of Tagovailoa, Bresset completed 24 of the 169 yards of 40 passes and a passcut. He was fired four times and was part of a six-bag surrender day by the Dolphins attack line. This is an uncountable number of plays in which Tagovailoa was injured.
