DECATUR — The annual renewal deadline for the freeze exemption for property tax assessments for the elderly is Friday, November 1.

Real Estate Owners have completed the 2020 Federal Tax Return and 1099 Form, Macon County Office Building, 141 S. Main St. Must be brought to the Macon County Assessment Office.

Real estate owners who have never applied and are 65 years of age or older and have a household income of less than $ 65,000 may be eligible for this tax exemption.

You can also mail the application as long as it includes proof of income.
