Pritzker announced on Tuesday that the team will be deployed in the disaster area for 17 days with the necessary mission equipment.
The 68 first responders come from Mutual Aid Box Alert System (MABAS) IL-Task Force 1 and are made up of members from various fire departments throughout the state.
“Work continues in Louisiana a few days after Hurricane Aida landed. Illinois is proud to provide support and resources to help fellow Americans,” said Governor JB Pritzker. The MABAS Fire Engine Strike Team will depart Illinois on Tuesday after receiving event identification, mission and safety briefings, and mobilization assistance.
