Maroa, Illinois (Wand)-Suspect is detained after Route 51 between Maroa and Forsyth was closed for standoffs situation..

At around 1:45 pm on Wednesday, WAND News crew members in the area saw drivers involved in the standoffs heading from Route 51 to the School Road area.

Maloa-Forsyth High School is in this standoff area. The district said it would not take children out as standoffs were deployed and the district contacted Illinois State Police.

The district keeps in touch with parents through textbooks. It is said that it is ready to use an alternative bus route if necessary.

WAND is working to confirm information about the situation.
