So in 2021, the White Sox is celebrating the Division Championship and preparing to host the first home playoff game since 2008. The team is doing what they can to enjoy the moment.

The White Sox announced on Wednesday that it will be hosting a “Change the Game Rally” at the Guaranteed Rate Field on Mondays from 3pm to 7pm to celebrate the team’s post-season appearance. It will be held at Gate 5 Plaza in Lot B of the stadium and free tickets will be distributed on the team’s website. www.whitesox.com/ctg It starts at 4 pm on Wednesday.

The event will include speed pitches, giveaways, and special guest appearances as the team celebrates the next American League Division Series. It starts on Thursday, October 7, and if the standings are maintained, the White Sox will face the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park that night.

In that scenario, the first ALDS game in the Guaranteed Rate Field will be Sunday, October 10.

The White Sox has already announced that it is encouraging fans to wear black in home playoff games, reviving the popular “blackout” at the 2008 AL Central Tiebreaker and ALDS. ..

Tony La Russa’s team has four games left at home during the regular season. One match will be played against the Reds on Wednesday night and three matches will be played against the Tigers to end this weekend’s regular season.
