Jacksonville, Florida (WFLA) – A 70-year-old former Ohio General Assembly was arrested and banned in a Florida hospital after refusing to leave his daughter’s bedside.
Amber Savage refused to leave UF Health North on October 4, after the visit time was over, according to reports of arrests and reservations from the Sheriff’s Office in Jacksonville.
Savage’s daughter was recovering from surgery at the time.
Savage said he understood why police were called to warn of trespassing, but “she said she had to be forcibly taken away.”
According to the report, Savage, a 20-year retired deputy at the Stark County Sheriff’s Office in Ohio, was supportive when arrested, but “in principle refuses to leave the hospital if something happens. I did. “[ed] Her daughter forced her to leave her side. ”
She was banished from the property for a year.
