Decatur, Illinois (Wand)- Fatal hit-and-run accident of Decatur I was sentenced to imprisonment.

24-year-old Malik Lewis was arrested in a warrant in June 2020 and faced eight indictments related to the crash that occurred in May of the same year. 27-year-old Jamira Cunningham was killed in a crash and three others were injured.

Cunningham was a car passenger.

Lewis pleaded guilty on August 3, 2021 for leaving the scene of a fatal accident, a class 1 felony. Other accusations he faced were dismissed as part of the judicial transaction.

He was sentenced to five years in prison and was sentenced to imprisonment for some time and one year of parole, which follows the period of imprisonment.
