CDC study: COVID vaccine stronger than innate immunity

San Francisco, CA (Kron) – According to a new study by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the vaccine provides much stronger immunity to COVID-19 than innate immunity.

Researchers analyzed data from about 200 hospitals nationwide and concluded that the COVID vaccine provides better protection than previous COVID infections.Specifically, the CDC report reports that unvaccinated adults previously infected with COVID 5.49 times more likely to be re-infected Than a fully vaccinated individual whose infection has not been previously recorded.

According to doctors, this study contains excellent information for people who are trying to get immunity just by getting a vaccine holdout, or COVID-19. According to experts, the latter is especially dangerous as it can lead to hospitalization and death.

Dr. Matt Willis, a public health officer in Marin County, said that people protected by the vaccine are less likely to get sick and less likely to get serious illness. Unvaccinated people who are already infected with COVID-19 also need to understand that it is difficult to measure the quantity and quality of these antibodies, he says.

On the other hand, vaccine-based immunity acquisition has been shown to work through clinical trials, Dr. Willis said.

The results of the CDC study, published Friday, show even higher benefits for certain age groups or for certain vaccine recipients.

“In this study, the benefits of vaccination compared to unvaccinated infections appeared to be higher for Moderna recipients than for Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines. This was for Moderna vaccine recipients’ COVID-19 admissions. Consistent with recent studies that have found that vaccines are more effective. For recipients of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, “the study said.

According to the CDC, the benefits of vaccination tend to be “higher” for people over the age of 65 than for individuals vaccinated between the ages of 18 and 64. However, the odds of reinfection were still higher in unvaccinated individuals who had previously been infected, between both age groups.

The CDC said additional research is needed to obtain further results on protection across different demographic groups and protection of both infected and vaccinated individuals.
