Chicago Bears Match Today: Rookie QB Justin Fields Leads Team to First Start Win with Detroit Lions Andy Dalton

Chicago (WLS)-Rookie quarterback Justin Fields led the Chicago Bears to their first victory over the Detroit Lions at Soldier Field on Sunday 14-24.

The team announced on Saturday that it would make his second consecutive start while Fields listed Andy Dalton as suspicious. Coach Matt Nagy said the Bears would wait until match time to announce who was behind the center.

Both quarterbacks deal with injuries, but Fields was able to practice fully throughout the week while Dalton was restricted daily. Dalton has recovered from a bruise on his left knee bone, but Fields actually wore a brace on his injured right hand all week long.

Fields injured his right thumb in a 26-6 defeat to Cleveland Browns last weekend. Dalton was injured just before halftime In the second week against Cincinnati.

Fields was 68 yards, 20-6, and was fired nine times after losing to Browns. This is his first NFL start.

Fields is 35-14 of 138 yards at this season’s interception. He ran 46 yards in 14 touchdown attempts.

Sunday’s noon match was the first match at home since the news that the Chicago Bears bought real estate to build a new stadium in Arlington Heights was reported.

Bears fan Latonya Horton said, “I need to be here.”

Soldier Field has been home to the Chicago Bears for decades, but it could change soon after the team signed a sale contract with a former suburban horse truck owner.

Prior to the kick-off with the Detroit Lions on Sunday, Ratonia and Cynthia Horton attempted to defend against the move.

“I hope they can come up with some solutions that can make the stadium better and thus they can stay,” Cynthia said.

Other fans like Glenn Braggs are all in favor of the idea.

“If we can get it, Bears Landia has casinos, hotels, sports books and parking lots. It will be the best for everyone involved, including Bears players and fans,” he said. Said.

He is particularly interested in seeing state-of-the-art equipment that wants to make the game easier to incorporate, as opposed to doing it in Soldier Field.

“I don’t go to the bathroom because I miss a solid part of the game when I try to go half-time. I don’t get food,” Braggs said.

That doesn’t mean he won’t miss the iconic lakeside stadium.

“To see the column, see how this place is organized. I love it,” he added.

Some fans were worried about losing more than the familiar background.

“The bigger we get, the more commercial we get, so we hope they maintain the closeness of their family, Soldier Field in Chicago,” said fan Zirmagana.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s office said she promised to maintain a well-known franchise in the city. But some fans we talked to said that even if the monsters along the way moved to Arlington Heights, or if Grislon was somewhere, they should be called the Chicago Bears as a homage to the city. ..
