Aurora, Illinois (AP) —Guards were rescued early Wednesday after falling into a trench dug for utility work near a strip mall on the western outskirts of Chicago, officials said.
Factor’s 25-year-old male security guard, a packaged food preparation company, fell into a hole while roaming the Aurora building and was stranded shortly before 12:15 am.
Officials said the man shouted for help from a colleague and began a two-hour rescue involving 20 different agencies.
A conscious man talking to rescue the crew was airlifted to Good Sumaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, where he was listed in danger.
