In an excerpt from an interview with Parents, Paul McCartney Blame John Lennon To start the dissolution of Beatles Over 50 years ago.

79-year-old McCartney told the Guardian that he, George Harrison and Ringo Starr were “left to pick up the piece.” He added that the three were instructed to remain silent while the pending commerce was signed.

“So for a few months we had to pretend,” McCartney said. “It was strange because everyone knew it was the end of the Beatles, but we just couldn’t leave.”

McCartney added that he eventually decided to “take the cat out of the bag.”
