London (AP) — Princess Beatrice of England and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi named their newborn daughter Siena Elizabeth.
In a tweet on Friday, Beatrice revealed the name along with a photo of the newborn’s footprints — entirely Siena Elizabeth Maperimotzi.
Siena Elizabeth is the 12th great-grandson of Queen Elizabeth II. She was born on September 18th at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London and weighed 6 pounds and 2 ounces (2.78 kg).
Beatrice, 33, is the stepmother of Mapelli’s son Christopher Wolf (known as Wolfie) from a previous relationship.
“We’re all on track and Wolfie is Siena’s best brother,” Beatrice said.
Beatrice is the tenth succession to the British throne, the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and his ex-wife, the Duchess of York.
After a whirlwind romance, Beatrice and Mapelli at the All Saints Royal Chapel in Windsor’s Royal Lodge in July 2020, after the date of their first wedding in May was postponed due to a coronavirus pandemic. I tied a knot at my private wedding.
Siena’s arrival came when Andrew was facing a US civil sexual assault proceeding.
The Duke, who resigned from royal duties in 2019, has been accused of sexually assaulting Virginia Juffle as a teenager. She claims to have been trafficked to have sex with the Duke at the age of 17 by Andrew’s friend Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender.
Andrew, who denies all claims, was portrayed driving from the Scottish Queen’s Balmoral home this week, prompting speculation that he was on his way to see his latest grandson.
