RAMS PLAYER TO WATCH

WR Cooper Cup. Rams’ top wide receivers rarely enjoy more than going home and playing big matches with the teams he saw and grew up with. A former star in eastern Washington has 29 career receptions and two touchdowns to the Seattle Seahawks. Kup soon formed a bond with QB Matthew Stafford, leading the NFL with five TD catches.

Seahawks players see

RB Chris Carson. It’s hard to understand Carson’s season so far. He has rushed at least 80 yards twice. He has been detained at 30 and 31 yards in the other two games. He has never carried the ball more than 16 times in the game, but he has played solidly on average 4.3 yards in a single attempt. In five career games with Rams, Carson rushes at least 69 yards each and has two 100-yard games. This seems like a week to increase his workload.

Key match

DK Metcalf vs. Jaylen Ramsey is always a must-see match. Seattle’s huge reception target for Rams’ lockdown cornerbacks makes it a great theater. The Metcalf suffered from a foot problem that occurred last week, with only four catches on the 49ers’ eight targets.

Major injuries

Seattle’s defensive line can be slender, as Darrell Taylor (ankle), Benson Mayowa (neck), and Carlos Dunlap (toe) are all uncertain due to injury. The Seahawks have worked more with the five defensive linemen, but may lack the depth to do so against the Rams.

Series notes

This will be the 48th match between teams, including the postseason. The 47th time has been outstanding for a long time, with Rams coming to Seattle and winning 30-20 in last season’s NFC Wild Card game. Rams led 20-10 half-time and 30-13 in the fourth quarter. It was Seattle’s first home playoff defeat since losing to Rams in the 2004 playoffs. … The last time the team played on Thursday night was 2019, when Seattle won 30-29.

Statistics and staff

The Rams were 3-1 in a match Thursday under Sean McVay, making them the only defeat in Seattle in 2019. … Stafford is second in the NFL on the TD Pass (11) and third on the Yard Pass (1,222) and Passer Rating (117.6). He is the only quarterback of the season and has at least 275 yards and two TD passes in each of the first four games. … In 14 career games, Aaron Donald has 15 sack and 40 QB hits against the Seahawks. … Wilson is one of two quarterbacks this season, trying at least 100 passes without throwing a passcut. Denver’s Teddy Bridgewater is another. … Wilson leads the league with a 129.9 passer rating. … Wilson had over 110 passer ratings in each of the first four games of the season and had no interceptions. He joined John Haddle in 1973 and Miltoplum in 1960.

Fantasy tips

McBay said he expects RB Darrell Henderson Jr. to play despite his rib pain. This is a big deal against Seattle’s defense, which is the last of the NFL in the allowed yard rush and has abandoned 4.6 yards for each rushing attempt.
