New York City (WPIX) — DC Comics made history on Monday’s National Coming Out Day with a big announcement about one of the world’s most famous superheroes.
according to Instagram post from Tom TaylorThe latest Superman, the current writer of DC’s latest Superman comic series “Superman: Son of Karuel,” will appear as bisexual in the fifth issue of the latest issue.
The current “Man of Steel” in the series is 17-year-old John Kent, the son of former Superman Clark Kent and Lois Lane.
“Today, the strongest superhero on the planet, #Superman, is coming out as bisexual,” Taylor captioned the post and added a pride flag emoji.
As Clark’s power began to decline, John Kent took over the role of Superman from his famous father in a new cartoon.
Taylor posted the news with an illustration of John Kent sharing his first kiss with comic character Jay Nakamura, a hacker and activist who idolizes Kent’s mother Lois Lane.
The big news comes months after another famous DC Comics character appeared.
