Rockford, Illinois (AP) —Three people have been charged for characterizing Rockford police officers as an attempted murder.
According to the report, three men between the ages of 18 and 21 are facing an attempted murder of police officers and worsening firearm launches. Rockford Register Star.
Rockford police allege that police were patrolling around 6 pm Thursday when they saw the stolen car. Police began chasing the vehicle when it was allegedly turned, and the crew began firing with pistols and tapped the police car several times to track it.
Police were able to later stop the vehicle with the advice of the general public and the support of the local police station.
“Police men and women do a great job of serving and protecting this community,” said police chief Carla Red. “Thanks to the general public for their step-up. We look forward to continuing to work together to make Rockford a safer place.”
The indictments were 21-year-old Chistopher Stucke, 19-year-old Maurice Citchen, and 18-year-old Jade Carter. I didn’t immediately know if they had a lawyer. The phone number listed was not found on Sunday.
