The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed the incident in a field in the southeastern corner of Waller County, not far from Houston Executive Airport, a public facility adjacent to the city’s energy corridor, primarily for corporate passengers.
According to Waller County Sheriff Troy Guidley, 21 people were on board, including 18 passengers and 3 crew members, all of whom were safe. The two were sent to the hospital.
Officials said the youngest on board was 10 years old.
Fortunately, no one was killed, Guidley added.

The photo taken by ABC13 shows the black smoke coming out of the fields around the crash site.
The ABC13 news helicopter SkyEye also caught a firefighter trying to extinguish the flames of the wreckage, leaving the tail of the aircraft intact.
Since the incident, the FAA has previously identified the aircraft as a McDonnell Douglas MD-87, adding that the plane rolled on the fence and ignited in the field as it attempted to leave Executive Airport shortly after 10 am CT.
Federal agencies also confirmed that all passengers and crew on board had successfully disembarked.
Eyewitness News also learned that the plane is registered under the name of J. Alan Kent, the owner of Flair Builders, a custom homebuilder based in Houston.

ABC13 contacted Flair Builders, who confirmed the incident with Kent at the time. Two more sources have confirmed that the plane headed for Boston for a trip to a match in the AL Championship Series. The destination has been confirmed by DPS.
The National Transportation Safety Board is leading the investigation.
Meanwhile, utility company CenterPoint Energy said the power outage, which affected more than 1,800 customers near the crash site, was caused by an airplane pulling out an overhead power line during takeoff. After the power outage, power was restored for all but 17 customers.
It’s not immediately clear if the power line is the cause of the crash.
