Harvey, Illinois — According to police, authorities arrested and charged two people, 19 and 25, after firing at Harvey police officers Saturday night.
Police said an off-duty Harvey police officer on his way to work was shot by an unknown perpetrator near the intersection of 154th Avenue and Woods Street. The criminal caused a car accident while escaping from the scene.
Police said the gray Ford Fusion crew was driving irregularly and began shooting him in the traffic before he returned the fire.
The officer was unharmed, but was taken to a local hospital and released in good condition.
Jonathan Andrews Jr., 25, has been charged with one exacerbation of firearm release and one illegal possession of firearms for a felony and parole breach.
Jonheym J. Andrews, 25, has been charged with one case that exacerbated the illegal use of weapons.
The case is under investigation.
