Rise-up exhibition at the Illinois Holocaust Museum
The Illinois Holocaust Museum investigates the June 1969 Stonewall Inn police assault and ignites the modern gay rights movement in the United States. Is sponsored. The exhibition will feature over 85 photographs, interactive displays and artifacts to examine the role of pop culture in influencing and reflecting attitudes towards the LGBTQ + community through film, television, sports and music.
“Rise Up: Stonewall and the LGBTQ Rights Movement” is currently being held until May 2022. The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm with last admission at 4:00.
