IROQUOIS COUNTY, (WAND)-The Iroquois County Public Health Department is now available with Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer and Moderna, and the COVID-19 Vaccine Booster.
Eligible individuals can receive boosters by booking Monday through Friday. 9 am-3:30pm Call 815-432-2483 to schedule a reservation.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Illinois Public Health Service recommend boosting the COVID-19 vaccine to specific populations or individuals in high-risk occupational and institutional environments.
The CDC recommends that the following groups receive boosters:
- People over 65 and residents of long-term care facilities
- People aged 50-64 with the underlying disorder
In addition, the CDC recommends that you consider the following groups as boosters:
- People aged 18-49 with an underlying disorder
- People aged 18-64 years at high risk of COVID-19 exposure and infection due to occupational or institutional settings
At this time, there is no cost for the COVID-19 vaccine.
If you are pregnant / lactating, you will need to bring a written document from your doctor to receive the vaccine.
Those who receive the booster must bring their COVID-19 vaccine card to the reservation.
Patients should wear a facial cover, practice social distance, and plan for at least 15 minutes of observation after vaccination.
