Rochester, Indiana (WXIN) — A woman convicted of beating and killing three siblings at a Fulton County bus stop and seriously injuring her fourth child was not released from prison before Christmas after a judge’s decision on Monday. Hmm.
Rochester’s Alyssa Shepherd was convicted of reckless murder, criminal recklessness, and injuries through a school bus. She was sentenced to four years in prison in 2019 in addition to house arrest and probation.
Shepherd lawyer Appeal the decisionHowever, the Indiana Court of Appeals upheld the conviction in September 2020.
The crash occurred on October 30, 2018, killing 9-year-old Alivia Stahl and her twin 6-year-old brothers Mason and Xavier Ingle. Maverick Rowe, a fourth child, was seriously injured but survived.
According to the report by WSBTAlyssa Shepherd was taught through the Corrections Bureau, sentenced to six months, and released from September 2022 to March 2022, Fulton County Prosecutor Michael Mars said.
A Fulton County judge had the option of releasing Shepherd three months ago (around December 20, 2021), but ruled against this decision.
Mars said WSBT The state said it had asked the judge not to release Shepherd early. 90 days isn’t that long, but every day shepherd is in jail is justice for a tragic-affected family.
