Washington DC (WTVO) — A recently introduced bill called for Kyle Rittenhouse to be awarded a parliamentary gold medal.
Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene killed two people during a Black Lives Matter protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, injuring a third and then being guilty of murder. He submitted to Rittenhouse a bill that gives the highest honor given by Congress. Fox news
If passed, Rittenhouse joined the ranks of law enforcement officers in response to the January riots in the US capital, killing 13 military personnel in a summer terrorist attack in Afghanistan. Green reportedly submitted a bill honoring Rittenhouse, who protected the “Community in Kenosha, Wisconsin, during the Black Lives Matter (BLM) riots.”
The bill is unlikely to succeed and is probably symbolic, as the Democratic Party controls both the House of Representatives and the Senate. Rittenhouse became a divisive figure, Republicans claimed he was protecting businesses from riots, and Democrats claimed his actions were unjustified.
Previous medal winners include George Washington, Martin Luther King Jr., and Winston Churchill.
