Police say a 13-year-old boy died after falling on a hotel balcony in North Carolina

Chapel Hill, North Carolina (WNCN) — Police are investigating the death of a teenager who fell upstairs from a hotel balcony in North Carolina on Saturday night.

According to a news release from Chapel Hill police, the incident was reported at a graduate hotel just before 11:00 pm.

A 13-year-old boy, who was not immediately identified, fell from the balcony of the hotel, police said.

“The child collapsed on two floors from the 5th floor to the 3rd floor of the hotel,” the news release said.

Police said the cause of the fall was under investigation. Police did not release any other information.

According to HospitalityNet, the Graduate Hotel (formerly Franklin Hotel) opened in August 2020.
