NASCAR steers to the left and blames the “Let’s Go, Brandon” chant – deadline

Steve Phelps, NS NASCAR The president said on Friday, the organization said, “Let’s go, let’s go, BrandonA chant frequently heard at movements, Southern and Midwestern events and other events.

Phelps said NASCAR will take steps against the illegal use of trademarks in products that boast a slogan that has begun to germinate.

“We track anyone (using the logo) and get something like that,” Phelps said in a report. “It’s not okay. It’s not okay for you to use our trademark illegally, whether or not we agree with that position.”

NASCAR was the careless ground zero of the “Let’s go, Brandon” movement. NBC Sports Reporter Kelly Stavast was interviewing Brandon Brown, the winner of his first career NASCAR victory when the crowd rushed into the chanting of “F ** k Joe Biden.”

Stavast misunderstood the FCC’s fines or tried to avoid them carelessly by using one of the words that couldn’t be said on television. She told Brown that the crowd was chanting, “Let’s go, Brandon,” and behold, a legend was born.

This phrase has been taken up as an alternative to being less vulgar and has become mainstream by the media and wise people.

“It’s an unfortunate situation, I feel Brandon, I feel Kelly,” Phelps said. “Unfortunately, I think it tells us where we are as a nation. We don’t want to connect ourselves with left or right politics.”

But Phelps’ remarks face the history of NASCAR in the past. President Donald Trump was the honorary starter of the Daytona 500 in 2020 and was enthusiastically accepted. NASCAR drivers also appeared at the Trump rally, and some talked.

Last year, NASCAR also made a strong announcement on the issue of social justice, banning the long-standing federal flag at the event.

Phelps claimed that NASCAR respects Cheong Wa Dae.

“Do you like the fact that it started with NASCAR and is steadily progressing elsewhere? No, we’re not happy with that,” Phelps said.
