Some Chicago connections can be found at World Series Champion Braves

Any Houston-World Series champion usually has connections with Chicago, both inside and outside the Chicago baseball team.

That’s why the Braves defeated the Astros in Game 6 in Houston on Wednesday to win the franchise’s first World Series Championship since 1995.

The first connection with Chicago is due to the first final score since it was achieved by the White Sox 16 years ago.

The Braves 7-0 victory is the first time the team has won the World Series title with a shutout victory in the clinch game since the White Sox won in 2005. At Minute Maid Park, the team also defeated the Astros 1-0. In Game 4 of that “Fall Classic”, he won the title for the first time in 88 years.

Jorge Soler is a well-known name for Cubs fans who belonged to the organization from 2012 to 2016, including some of the three major league level seasons. He starred in the NLCS in 2015 and contributed to the team’s World Series Championship in 2016.

Solaire was traded to the Royals before the 2017 season to approach Wade Davis and stayed in Kansas City until she was sent to the Braves, the trade deadline for this season.

In the World Series with the Astros, the outfielder hit three home runs. This included a three-run home run in Game 6, giving Atlanta a permanent lead. His three long balls, six RBIs, and an average of .300 gave him the honor of a Series MVP when he won the second World Series title in his career.

Joc Pederson was traded to the Braves in July in exchange for minor league first baseman Bryceball after playing 73 games in the Cubs this season. He had three home runs and nine RBIs during the Atlanta 201 playoffs.

Drew Smyly, who belonged to the Cubs organization in 2018, and Jesse Chavez, who pitched to the Cubs later in the 2018 season, also saw a time-out from the Braves bullpen.

Perhaps Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman had former Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo in mind when he won the World Series final in Game 6. From “Fall Classic”, Freeman took the ball after the final and put it in his back pocket.

Members of the Chicago Red Stars were attending the celebration when her boyfriend, Atlanta shortstop Dansby Swanson, won his first World Series Championship.

Maria Martin of Atlanta’s WXIA-TV won the World Series Championship Trophy at Minute Maid Park’s Doug Out after the match.
