Illinois (Wand)-JB Pritzkar’s office has announced a $ 94 million award to improve public airports throughout Illinois.
Funding is provided through the bipartisan Illinois Reconstruction Capital Program. $ 94 million unleashes $ 11.5 million in local donations for a total investment of $ 105 million.
Leaders said funding represents the largest state-wide capital investment program for airports in Illinois’s history. Projects include planning, construction, reconstruction, development and improvement of public airports to increase safety and efficiency.
“We are providing $ 94 million to airports throughout the state, including funding from St. Louis, Central Illinois, Peoria International, Quincy, Rochelle Municipal, and many other airline sites in the state.” Said Pritzker. “Importantly, these funds will be used first and foremost for projects that may not be fully federal funds that need to be completed.
