A man killed in a shooting involving police near the British royal family

London-British police say a man was shot dead during a confrontation with a firearms police officer on Saturday near the royal palace at Kensington Palace in London.

The Metropolitan Police Department said police officers were called in to report that a man with a firearm had entered a bank and bookmaker in the Kensington district of western London.

He ran away by car. The car was stopped by a police officer near a wealthy area with several embassies and palaces, which are the official residences of Prince William, his wife Catherine and their three children in London. It is also the home of several others in the royal family.

“The ammunition was fired and the man suffered a gunshot wound,” the unit said. He was declared dead on the scene.

Police say the case was not treated as terrorism.

According to police, police standardization groups were called in as usual in shootings involving police.
