Boston (AP) — A former college athletics coach accused of setting up fake social media and email accounts trying to trick women into sending their nude or semi-nude photos has been charged with 15 charges. The prosecutor said Thursday.

He was charged with 12 transfer frauds, and one each for cyberstalking, conspiracy to commit computer fraud, and computer fraud support and betting.
Weiss’s federal lawyer said in an email that she did not comment.
According to federal prosecutors, Mr. Waite has coached several universities, including Northeastern University in Boston, Penn State University, Illinois Institute of Technology, Tennessee University, and Concordia University in Chicago.
Prosecutors said they used fake social media accounts to contact women as early as February 2020 and found that their photos were at risk online. He then offered to help the woman remove the photos from the Internet and asked her to send in additional nude or semi-nude photos that could be used for “reverse image search,” the prosecutor said.
