James received his first positive test from a sample collected on Monday. The sample was retested twice with one positive result and one negative result. James took additional tests on Tuesday, but according to the league, those tests did not return one negative result and one clinically definitive result.
“Usually when you get a positive test, they immediately test and confirm you,” James said in an interview. “There was no follow-up test after my positive test. It was directly linked to isolation and you were put into the protocol. That’s the part that made me angry.”
