New York (AP) — The day after the United States announced that the first case of an omicron variant of the coronavirus was detected in California, health officials announced Thursday that it was found in a man who attended an anime convention in New York City late. November.
Men were tested positive after returning to Minnesota, according to Minnesota health officials. New York officials said they were working to track participants in the convention held at the Jacob K Javits Convention Center in New York from November 19th to 21st. The event required vaccination.

According to the Minnesota Health Department, a Minnesota man attended Anime NYC 2021 at the Javits Center. The vaccinated man showed mild symptoms on 22 November and requested a COVID-19 test on 24 November. His symptoms have subsided.
As some health officials suspect, there are many new variants, such as whether it is more contagious, whether it makes people more seriously ill, and whether it can block the vaccine. Remains unknown.
The United States recorded the first confirmed case of the Omicron variant on Wednesday. Vaccinated travelers who returned to California after traveling to South Africa on 22 November developed mild symptoms and tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday.
Omicron is classified by the World Health Organization as a “mutant of concern”. Scientists are working to determine how they can be compared to the major delta mutants in terms of infectivity and severity. Scientists are also studying how existing vaccines and treatments protect against Omicron.
