Champaign, Illinois (Wand)-Arrested in connection with the 2019 shooting of a 10-year-old boy in Champaign.

Police were summoned to Dr. Williamsburg’s 1600 block around 11:30 pm on December 1, 2019 for shooting.

A 10-year-old boy in the house was shot twice. His injury was life-threatening, but he was taken to the hospital and fully recovered.

The shot was fired from outside the house. Police said the child was not the intended target of the shooting.

On February 23, 2022, a Champaign County law firm charged Champaign’s Debron Mile, 21, with four criminal offenses, including an attempted murder, a Class X ferrony. .. Deteriorated battery with firearms, Class X felony; Deteriorated discharge, Class 1 felony; Illegal use of weapons, which is a Class 3 felony. Miles has been detained at the Champaign County Correction Center on unrelated charges.
