Gary, Indiana, (AP) — A 15-year-old boy hit his mother with a brick, crashed an SUV into another vehicle at high speed, and stole her SUV minutes before killing a 40-year-old Gary man. Said the police. ..

Preliminary research revealed that the Chevrolet SUV was running at high speed immediately after colliding with the Hyundai Elantra near the Gary intersection, Martinez said.

Police said the SUV ran off the road, hit a stop sign and rolled over, and Elantra rested more than 200 feet north of the intersection.

Gary Police Commander. Jack Hamadi said both Jones and teens are the only ones in their cars. He said a boy driver whose name was not disclosed was taken to a hospital in Chicago.
